The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Nigeria has congratulated all teachers across the country on the commemoration of the 2023 World Teachers’ Day.
In a statement signed by its National President, Chief Yomi Otubela, NAPPS expressed its pleasure in being associated with the professionals who are committed to preparing and grooming children to become great leaders in various spheres of life.
The association noted the importance of teachers in society, stating that they contribute significantly to the academic world and the development of society at large.
“Therefore, the World Teachers’ Day celebration presents a unique opportunity to appreciate teachers for their immense contribution to the growth and development of the education sector.
According to Chief Otubela, teachers are the transformation agents in education, and they should get the necessary support from all stakeholders and feel motivated to achieve the goals of effective and qualitative education.
He highlighted the need for teachers to receive support in various areas such as psychological support, mental wellness, job security, remuneration and technological support, among others, to successfully carry out their numerous roles in the lives of children and serve as role models.
Furthermore, he called on the governments at all levels and school owners/administrators to ensure that learning institutions are adequately secured from threats that could hurt the learning process.
He thanked all teachers for their support, diligence, and dedication to the teaching profession. The association also wished all Nigerian teachers a happy Teachers’ Day celebration.
