Professor Olutunde Ojewole has assumed office as the President/Vice Chancellor, Babcock University, illishan-Remo, Ogun State.
Prof. Ojewole took the mantle of leadership from Prof. Ademola Tayo at a ceremony at the university on Monday, December 1st, 2025.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Ojewole pledged a servant‑leadership style rooted in humility, grace, vision, excellence, and courage.
He declared his main mission to “Build People,” putting their “development ahead of profit, programmes, or politics,” and promised to nurture servant‑leaders, transform lives, and foster intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual growth across campus.

He also reaffirmed his administrative five cardinal points encapsuled in an acronym, GRACE for an institution that would be: Globally relevant, positioning Babcock as a benchmark for higher education in Africa and beyond; Research-focus through fostering innovative scholarship that tackles national and global challenges; Adventist-rooted to preserve the University’s spiritual foundation and ethical standards as well as encourage Competent community and Entrepreneurial driven.

He submitted that he would cultivate a team of highly skilled faculty, staff, and students as that would drive the entrepreneurial vision by encouraging creativity, enterprise, and economic empowerment across the campus.
He promised a revamped student portfolio, especially in admissions processes, faster transcript turnaround and improved meal quality to support student wellbeing. This includes the mission for the expansion of international student enrollment and faculty exposure abroad and strengthened industry linkages through research commercialization, and innovation hubs to turn ideas into impact.

His vision outlined a list of bold facilities agenda which includes smart classrooms equipped with interactive technology, State‑of‑the‑art research labs to drive cutting‑edge discovery; renewable energy installations to reduce carbon footprint and a campus‑wide recycling and improved sanitation systems for a healthier environment.
Professor Olutunde Ojewole is a pastor‑scholar whose academic background spans Estate Management, Religious Studies, Theology, Biblical Exegesis and Ethics — degrees earned at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and Andrews University in the United States. His address infused the gathering with optimism, echoing the university’s mantra that “the future is bright.”

Prof. Ademola Tayo as reflected on his decade of service in an institution where he had also served multiple roles: “What we commemorate today is the legacy of a community that has prayed together, sacrificed together, and worked together to lift Babcock University to new heights of integrity, excellence, and service.”

As Babcock University starts the beginning of a new chapter with optimism under Prof. Ojewole, the overarching theme is a commitment to building a globally respected, digitally integrated university rooted in Adventist values while prioritizing people, innovation, and community impact.
