Women’s Rights and Health Project (WRAHP), a Non-Government Organisation (NGO), has called for inclusive programme for women and girls with disabilities.
WRAHP’s Executive Director, Bose Ironsi, made the call at a meeting with stakeholders in Lagos on Tuesday.
Ironsi said the objective of the meeting is to share with stakeholders in Lagos State, the experiences of a one-year project implementation on “Amplifying the Voices of Women and Girls with Disabilities against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.”
She added that the project was implemented by WRAHP, in partnership with Women and Girls with Disabilities, with funding from the African Women Development Fund (AWDF), Ghana.

The executive director said WRAHP is an NGO that promotes the health and general development of women, young people and communities, using the rights-based approach, with offices in Lagos, Edo and Ebonyi states.
She explained that recommendations on the way forward; elicit stakeholders’ contributions and commitments toward addressing the challenges of SGBV against women and girls with disabilities had also been made.
She said some of the recommendations from the project implementation were; the need for livelihood empowerment for women and girls with disabilities and survivors of SGBV, as well as scholarship for their children.
Ironsi, therefore, appealed to partners to join the global and national efforts in ending all forms of violence and rights violations against women and girls, especially those living with disabilities.
