The 4th Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA 2025) concluded with an evening of glamour, dedicated to celebrating excellence and honouring industry legends at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
The event, hosted by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN), spotlighted the finest content across Television, Radio, and Online platforms.
The high point of the night was the recognition of cinematic icons with special honours. Legendary actor and filmmaker, Mr. Olu Jacobs, and veteran Film/TV Director/Producer, Mr. Jimi Odumosu, were both presented with the prestigious Industry Pacesetter Award for their monumental contributions to the industry’s growth and development over decades.

Furthermore, two influential female figures received industry recognition. Mrs. Jibe Ologeh, EMCOAN’s immediate Past President and BOT member, was honoured with the Luminary Award for Content Creation and Leadership, while Ijeoma Onah, Founder of the Nigerian Film & TV Summit (NIFS), received the Industry Trailblazer Award for her strategic efforts and commitment to the sector.
In his welcome address, EMCOAN President, Mr. Adeniji Omirin, affirmed the awards’ permanence and called on the industry to embrace and continue celebrating homegrown stories and local content.
Project Director Alayande Stephen reflecting on the four years of growth, appreciated the nominees, the Jury, and the sponsors whose commitment has been vital to the success of NEMCEA.

In the competitive categories, the biggest winner of the night was the Drama Series, ‘Closets’, produced by Zee Media Services Ltd, which carted home the coveted Best Overall Drama Series award for the second time in four years.
The show’s lead, Gabriel Afolayan, was also named Best Actor for his role.
The Best Actress award went to Marvel Bassey for Sands of Time, while Stellamaris Duru (for We Happy People) won Best Producer. Other notable local winners included Sport Pizza for Best Sports Show, Oro Yi Kan Wa for Best Entertainment Show, and Wives Round Table for Best Talk Show on Radio. On the international front, Zee World won Best Content Channel and Best Technical Quality, while Star Life secured Best Drama Series for Game of Love.

The organizers also acknowledged important institutions with Distinguished Awards, including the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) for Good Programming and Radio Nigeria for Social Impact Programming, showcasing a broad recognition of excellence across all media sectors.
