As part of activities to mark the 135 years anniversary of the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Agric and Agro Allied group of the chambers is set to hold its yearly agro fair and symposium.
The symposium according to Kola Aderibigbe, Chairman of the Agric Group said is to hold on Wednesday September 6 and Thursday September 7, 2023 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, with Alwan Ali Hassan, Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Agriculture as the keynote speaker.
Aderibigbe, while speaking on the theme of the symposium; ‘Food Security and National Development’ stated that the theme is in line with the happenings in the country and that even before the government came in, the group was passionate about the topic.
He stated that experts and practitioners in the agricultural sector have been invited to discuss the way out for the nation to have enough food in the country.

He said that the programme is a yearly event, that exhibition was added into it last year, where stakeholders are encouraged to exhibit their produce and services.
“We are calling on everybody to join us and see what we are doing; it is for the development of the state and the nation at large.
Aderibigbe further stated that the government needs to prioritise the attainment of self-sufficiency in food grains production and achievement of the nutrition requirements.
He said that attendance is free but registration is required.
Aderibigbe noted that LCCI will be 135 years old, the oldest chamber of commerce in West Africa and the second oldest in Africa in general.
He said the group is promoting the 135 years anniversary, that the group has captains of industry in Nigeria as members; those who have made their parts and are still making their part in the industry are part of the group.
He said there are also upcomings who are ready to take positions for them to make sure that Nigeria economy moves forward.
