The Inner Wheel Club of Nigeria, District 911 and District 912 on Monday marked her 100th year anniversary with a fitness walk as part of activities scheduled for the celebration.
The international club closely linked to the Rotary Club is also one of the largest female humanitarian organizations.
The fitness walk which involved members and Club Executives in Lagos State started from Alade Market, Ikeja.
The members adorned their colorfully branded Inner Wheel club Centenary celebration Tee shirts.
In a chat with Brand Visibility at the event, the immediate Past District Chairman of Inner Wheel district 911 and also the committee Chairman for the centenary celebration; Mrs. Adejumoke Odulaja said that the essence of the walk was to give thanks to the Almighty God, and also for friendship and service to humanity.
She added that they were creating awareness to let people know what the club has been doing as a charitable organization and how it has been impacting lives.
A past National representative, Mrs. Doyin Otuyalo, an Octogenarian said that the main objective of the club is to promote friendliness.
She explained further that whenever a District Chairman or executive or national representative leaves an office, she is supposed to support the new person in charge and all members are supposed to cooperate and be friendly to let the sisterly love continues.
The fitness walk was conducted in collaboration with security operatives and a convoy of vehicles from Alade Market to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
They sang their anthem and other club songs before they were attended to by Hon. Nureni Akinsanya who represented Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He congratulated the club on their anniversary and wished thembest of luck.
