United Capital Asset Management Limited (UCAML), a subsidiary of United Capital Group and a leading name in Nigeria’s asset management industry, has officially launched its newest mutual fund—The Children Investment Fund (CIF)—at an event held in Lagos to commemorate the Children’s Day.
The naira-denominated, open-ended fund is designed to help Nigerian families build sustainable financial futures for their children by offering access to long-term investment opportunities tailored to major life milestones such as education, healthcare, and seed capital needs.
With this launch, UCAML now manages a portfolio of 10 open-ended mutual funds, solidifying its position as the second-largest mutual fund provider in Nigeria. The CIF underscores the company’s broader mission to foster financial inclusion, promote early investment culture, and support intergenerational wealth creation.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Odiri Oginni, Managing Director and CEO of United Capital Asset Management, emphasized the importance of starting early when it comes to wealth building.
She said, “The Children Investment Fund was created to help parents and guardians prepare financially for their children’s future.
“We believe that every child deserves a strong financial head start, and this Fund provides a disciplined, professionally managed platform to build that foundation.
“We believe that every child deserves a good financial head start, and this fund is our contribution to building that foundation for the next generation. Whether it’s for education, or healthcare, or special needs, this fund provides a structured and disciplined way to start early and grow steadily.”
She explained that the fund is ideal for investors looking to grow wealth gradually in preparation for future needs such as tuition, healthcare, or business startup capital.
The Fund will be managed with a diversified strategy, investing in a mix of equities, fixed income, and money market instruments, with a view to delivering long-term growth while preserving value against inflation.
Group CEO of United Capital Plc, Peter Ashade, described the Fund’s launch as a reaffirmation of the Group’s commitment to providing inclusive financial solutions that support long-term impact and economic resilience.
His words, “This is more than just a product launch—it is about helping families create real financial security for the next generation. When we invest in children today, we are strengthening the economic foundation of tomorrow.”
United Capital Asset Management currently manages over N1 trillion in assets, with mutual funds accounting for more than M500 billion of that total.
Its leadership in the market has been underpinned by innovation, strong fund performance, and a customer-first approach.
The Children Investment Fund is expected to follow the strong performance trajectory of the company’s existing funds, which have consistently outperformed market benchmarks.
