The Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Tuesday, took a defining step to fulfil its promise to provide broadband connectivity to the Lagos State University with the delivery of the major equipment and devices required to deploy the intervention, to the main campus, Ojo.
Some of the equipment delivered to facilitate internet access across the university included inverters, high-capacity batteries, solar panels, cabinets, switches, routers, D-Link cables, solar regulators, radios, and switches, amongst others.
While taking delivery of the equipment, Director, Directorate of ICT, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, noted that all that was left is for the equipment to be installed and internet would become accessible across the nooks and crannies of the main campus, Ojo before the end of July 2023.
He added that the DICT team was ready to work with the NCC team to facilitate the installations within the shortest time possible, while praising the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for her effort in attracting the infrastructure to the University.

Recall that the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mallam Isa Pantami, had, on 6th April 2023, announced Lagos State University as one of the 49 Tertiary Institutions across Nigeria that would benefit from the Federal Government’s broadband connectivity intervention.
