Education experts at the induction ceremony for the 2024/2025 professional teachers had charged 253 Ph.D, Masters and Bachelor Degree Graduands of Lagos State University, to be the best among other teachers with impeccable characters and exceptional Midas touch in the discharge of their responsibilities.
They were equally advised to see themselves as dignified destiny moulders.
The fresh members of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) body were inducted on Wednesday, 16th April 2025, at the Lagos State University Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The inductees were saddled with the key responsibility of being outstanding in the teaching profession. They were called upon to be fully aware that the destiny of their various students were in their hands.
The Acting Registrar/Chief Executive, TRCN, Dr. Stella Maria Nwoekeocha in her address at the induction ceremony through the Director, Regulation, Accreditation and Enforcement, TRCN, Dr. Hammed Abimbola Okunola congratulated the inductees on their Computer Based Test (CBT) examination performance of 83.2%.

Her words: “The teaching profession is the bedrock of every development. A TRCN member is an architect of the future of millions of young ones. You are foot soldiers who will change the narrative of teaching and learning in society.
“You belong to the esoteric class of professional teachers who will change the narrative of the teaching industry. Be proud of your profession as you stand on the same pedestal as doctors and nurses in developed countries.
“This you can achieve by embracing humility, taking good care of the young ones to be placed in your custody, by being a good transformer and moulder of destiny to be remembered for the best. TRCN will never overlook the excesses of any member who may fall short of the teaching profession ethics”. Dr. Nwoekeocha concluded.

The Dean, Faculty of Education, Professor Olugbenga Akindoju, in his address, appreciated the Registrar and Chief Executive, TRCN, for her continuous partnership in ensuring that Lagos State University produced teachers that are not only well trained, but, are also professionally certified to meet both national and global standards.
“Dear inductees, today is a call to higher purpose. You are not just being certified. You are being commissioned as ambassadors of quality education. The certificate you will receive today is a seal of competence, professionalism, and ethical responsibility. You now belong to a prestigious community of nation builders, and we expect you to wear that badge with pride and accountability,” the Dean charged.
The Dean, represented by Professor Babajide Abidogun concluded by asserting that, Faculty of Education, Lagos State University remains committed to producing educators who are not only sound in theory but practical, innovative, and responsive to the dynamic needs of 21st-century classrooms.
He thereafter advised the TRCN inductees to be proud of their profession and be good educators to their students and pupils while impacting positively on their lives at all times.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, represented by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Oluwafemi Lawal while declaring the induction ceremony opened ongratulated the inductees

The Vice-Chancellor joined the Registrar, TRCN, in the presentation of TRCN Certificates to inductees. She then advised them to be a pacesetter in the teaching industry.
The Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Emmanuel Fanu, who was represented by the Deputy Registrar/Faculty Officer, Faculty of Education, Mrs. Modupe Obayomi-Davis, took charge of the order of the induction ceremony.
Also present at the ceremony were former Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Academics), Professor Olumuyiwa Noah, Professor Ife Abodunrin, Professor Silas Egbowon, Professor Pius Gbenu, Dr Odebowale, Dr Enitan Falade, Faculty Coordinator, TRCN, Lagos State University, Professor Oludare Olufowobi, Dr Akapo, Dr Isiaka Akinyemi, Coordinator, TRCN Lagos Office, Mr. Olumuyiwa Ojewuyi, and other teaching and non-teaching staff of the Faculty of Education.
