Babcock University, Illishan Remo, Ogun State, Department of Marketing and Communication hosted the 7th edition of its Youth Empowerment Programme, “Cultivating Excellence in Youth”.
The event held at the university brought together students from 20 schools in Lagos and Ogun States, with participants joining both physically and online, providing a platform for social interaction, learning, and idea exchange.
Guest speaker Prof. Awoyemi Lawal-Arolowo emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, innovation, and self-belief. “Remember, whatever you believe you can achieve, you can,” she encouraged participants.

Prof. Olugbenga Idowu, Associate Vice President of ITCT, representing the Senior Vice President, Management Services, Prof. Yacob Haliso, urged students to strive for excellence while highlighting their vital role in society.
The event featured student debates, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.
Babcock Academy emerged the winner, with Joy Cometh Schools, Ikorodu, and Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode, securing second and third positions, respectively.
Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of the Department of Marketing and Communication, presented awards to the students, commending their outstanding performance and confidence in delivery.
