The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is set to hold its third edition of the Advertising Industry Colloquium (AIC).
The AIC, a premier gathering of advertising industry leaders and the Academia is scheduled to hold July, 8, 2025 at the Sheba Centre, Ikeja, Lagos at 8am.
The Advertising Industry Colloquium and Academic Journal was instituted by ARCON’s Director-General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo and the Committee chaired by Prof. Rotimi Olatunji, Professor of Advertising and Public Relations, Lagos State University, Ojo to create an atmosphere for scholars and practitioners in advertising and marketing communication to brainstorm on strategies for continuous process improvement in advertising education and profession.
The Committee has successfully organized two previous editions of the Colloquium in 2023 and 2024 respectively, as well as launched a flagship ARCON Journal of Advertising and Marketing Communication during the 2024 edition.
In a statement by the Council and signed by the Head Corporate Affairs, Winifred Akpan, the 2025 edition tagged AIC 3.0 with the theme ‘From Dialogue to Data: Merging Storytelling, Human Engagement and Techs in Marketing Communication.’ promises to be an exciting platform for knowledge, networking and exploring the latest trends shaping the advertising landscape.
According to her, industry experts and the academia will share insights on the theme, providing attendees with valuable takeaways to enhance their skills and stay ahead of the curve.
“The keynote speaker is Olufemi Odugbemi, Founder/CEO, Zuri24 Media and other speakers include Idy Enang, immediate past President, NIMN, Nana Milagrosa Utomi Biyang, Founder and Chief Experience Curator, MPXM, Steve Babaeko, Group CEO, X3M ideas and Stephen Onaivi, MD, Mediareach OMD and Professor Kolade Ajilore, Department of Mass Communication, Babcock University, Illishan-Remo, Ogun state.
“They will share their experiences and perspectives on the industry’s most pressing issues and there will be panel discussions, networking opportunities and mentoring sessions for students will also be part of the event.”
The Colloquium will also feature a creative advertising pitch competition involving seven tertiary institutions that emerged from the pre-event pitch competition carried out across institutions in Nigeria.
These institutions are University of Ilorin, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, River State University, Kaduna Polytechnic, Federal University Kashere, Gombe State, Ebonyi State University and Pan-Atlantic University.
