The Lagos State University, Ojo has given directives on the closure of the university ahead of the 2023 General Elections and in consideration of the Ministerial directive on the closure of all Universities and Inter University Centres during the upcoming 2023 General Election.
It should be recalled that the Second Semester Examination of the university has begun on Monday, 13th February 2023, as scheduled to commence the winding down of the 2021/2022 academic session.
During the emergency meeting of the senate of the university held on Monday, 13th February, 2023, it was agreed that students should vacate the campus on the 23rd February, 2023 and resume to continue their examinations by 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.
Also all students should vacate the campus by 6:00 p. m. on Thursday 9th, March 2023 to resume to continue their examination by 8:00 a. m. on Tuesday, 14th March 2023; and Staff members are to be on ground to carry out their duties.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello in her message on the examination salute the students for coping with the rigours of academic engagements of the semester in the face of the socio – economic challenges facing the nation at this time.
“I am convinced that our Faculties have done all that is necessary to prepare you for the examination and it is now up to you to give your best in the assessments.
“Be reminded that the University has zero tolerance for examination malpractices in any guise. I therefore, urge you to conduct yourself honorably throughout the process.
“I pray that God will see you through and grant you good success in the examination.”
