The Institute of Arts Management and Professional Studies, (IAMPS), Nigeria in partnership with Prowess University, Delaware, USA has conferred on some eminent Nigerians Doctorate award of the University at the 10th Leadership Summit/ Induction ceremony of the Institute.
The event which took place at the University of Lagos, Akoka at the weekend had 28 recipients awarded Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) in Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Divinity, Social and Human Development, Financial Management; Information and Communications Strategy, Educational Management, Technology Management; Health Care Management; Public Administration; Human Resource Management and Cyber Leadership and Strategy.
Also, 17 persons were inducted as Fellows and Associate members of the Institute at the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Registrar, IAMPS and African Representative of Prowess University, USA, Prof. Eze Nwauba said the institute which was established in 2016 with the Corporate Affairs Commission is also recognised by the Federal Ministry of Education, adding that activities at IAMPS are conducted with maximum adherence to the principles of ethics and professional duties.
This he said reflected in transparent honesty and complete harmony which follows shared and well established procedures.
“IAMPS expertise receives adequate professional training and updating so as to guarantee at all times, a high level of performance in line with core professional ethics which includes the maintenance and enhancement of their qualifications through functional persistency.
Stating that the institute has successfully collaborated with many professional bodies, corporate organisations and universities nationally and internationally, Prof. Nwauba said the training and certificates are backed by institutions that set the industry standards in the various fields where they offer training and certification.
He disclosed further that IAMPS is accredited by the Euro-American Joint Accreditation Service (EA-JAS) and also an accredited Affiliate member on globally recognised safety organisation ‘World Safety Organisation’ (WSO). “All our certificates are backed by the confidence that comes with ISO certification and are accepted globally.
Congratulating the awardees, Prof. Nwauba said they are men and women who have made remarkable mark in their various endeavours, who have sacrificed a lot for the impact of humanity.
“Today we are here to celebrate great men and women who have made themselves worthwhile in their various endeavours. They were spotted because of their good deeds because a gold fish they say does not hide, you are spotted today and we are here to celebrate you,” he said.
The Nigerian Representative, Prowess University, Prof. Justice Esibe in his remarks said there was committee set aside to scrutinize the final recipients and this therefore showed that “we have done the needful before these set of people emerged.
“We have to review it from our families that is the strongest unit before we raise our society and it showed that you have the character and capability to be part of this award.
He urged recipient to continue with the good work and to start working with IAMPS because the change we all desires begins with all of us.
Delivering the lecture with the theme: ‘Waves of Freedom: The Interchange of personal Responsibility in Nation Building; Prospects and Realities’, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Augustine Uranta, of Religious Studies, Prowess University, USA, said Nigeria today is at the crossroads of her political history, and on the threshold of decisions to make or mar, to succeed or fail.
He however added that Nigeria doesn’t need larger Churches or Mosques, Nigeria doesn’t need an Igbo man, Nigeria doesn’t need a Yoruba man, Nigeria doesn’t need an Hausa/Fulani man, Nigeria doesn’t need an Ijaw man and Nigeria doesn’t need an Ibibio man.
“Nigeria, needs good roads, power (electricity), good schools, and good hospitals; Nigeria needs strengthened institutions, Nigeria needs good men – armed with skills, goodwill/integrity, and Nigeria needs more factories and industries. Most importantly, Nigeria needs you.”
He further added that everyone’s collective responsibility is important in the wake of our post-election experiences and corresponding realities of 2024 and beyond; we must now look past our political, religious, and ethnic divides, and begin to press for leadership accountability for the enthronement of good governance and effective leadership above mediocre level and extreme autocratic tendencies that have fueled the high-rate governmental incapacitation.
Thus, good governance is the heart of the process of national advancement, unity, peace, and prosperity.
“We must not repeat the mistakes of the past as leaders and noble citizens; we must seek for the maintenance of law and order, transparency, accountability, responsiveness, due Process, the rule of law, a cut down on the cost of governance, competency, separation and devolution of powers, a free press, a progressive civil society arena, the existence of credible opposition, conflict prevention and management strategies, the respect for minority rights, protection of lives and Property, human rights and democratization.
Among the recipient of the award was the Group Executive Director, Engr. Ojukwu Chukwuemeka Kingsley and Group Managing Director, Nwankwo Bright Izuchukwu of Britking Group of Companies who were awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in Business Administration.
Speaking with Brand Visibility, Dr. Nwankwo Bright Izuchukwu who was excited at the honour thanked God and the school who also found him worthy and also bestow the honor on him.
“I see this as an opportunity to do more because I believe for the school to have nominated me and decorated me today with this honorary doctorate degree, it shows more is still being expected from me.
“I am not the only person around, but I believe there are some potentials in which they also feel that I have also complemented positively to the good of the society and to the development of Nigeria and Africa at large in areas of job creation and youth empowerment and I happy to continue to do that.
“We have over 200 Nigerian youths on our direct employment and it is not by our own making, it is just by the grace of God.
Advising the youths, Dr. Izuchukwu urged them to be dedicated, consistent and to always give their best in any place they find themselves. So the three key words and three key advice I’ll give to them is to believe in themselves, believe in God and believe in what they do. “Believe me, as far as somebody has these three concepts, no matter the distraction that comes their way, they are certainly going to conquer and achieve what they aim to achieve.”
For an elated Dr. Ojukwu Chukwuemeka Kingsley, the award is a dream come true and this showed all our dedication to work and empowerment of the youth is notice by some set of people who now honour us with this award.
“We have always dedicated our time in doing that thing we have passion for, which Chief among them is empowering the Youths through the skills God has also given us in the area of real estate. So at no time, have I dream that this award is going to come today but we are grateful to the school for this honour.”
Urging the youth to always have a good mentor, he advised them to avoid shortcuts in achieving anything they aim at. “If you see anybody that is making it today, there is a story behind it and if you look at that person well, you will see the scar behind the story of the position the person has attained in life.
“So I want to advice the Nigerian Youth to know that at every point in time, there’s always a first time and what you go through in that first time will take you to greatness. So I want you to embrace hard work and consistency in all you do and you will enjoy the rewards,” he added.
